V-GEL®34 cost saving OBM organo clay

V-GEL®34 is an organoclay (bentonite) rheological additive . It is utilized in solvent based systems including low to inter mediate till higher polarity range of organic liquids, it is working as a thixotropic agent and thickener in paints, inks and adhesives .

Advantages :High gelling efficiency and easy dispersing .It produces reproducible thixotropic consistency over a wide temperature range Impart sparticle suspension, preventing hard settling of pigment and fillers Exerts strong film reinforcing action in organic binder system.

Applications: V-GEL®34 can be used in inks, paints ,sealant and adhesives, cosmetics and grease and replacement of fumed silica. Suitable solvents/Resins :Rule 66 mineral spirits,VM&P naphtha ,aromatic naphtha, toluene ,xylene ,kerosene , heptane.

Incorporation:  V-GEL®34 can be incorporated into organic liquids using either high shear or high speed dispersing equipment. Optimum gelling efficiency is usually obtained when the proper degree of mechanical, chemical energy are applied to the system. The polar activator such as propylene carbonate, methanol/water (95/5), ethanol/water (95/5), or acetone acts as a wedge to help open up the clay platelets and developing maximum gellation. The relative amount of polar activator may from 30% to 60% by weight of V-GEL® 34 depending on the system. Use levels of V-GEL® 34 are generally 0.2-3.5% by weight of the system.

Storage stability: Two years if stored dry in unopened original packing at temperature between 0°C-30°C
